  • Denise Burcham

    Strings, Music Theory

    Denise Burcham has performed and taught professionally for over 40 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Baylor University and graduate studies in Music Education and Gifted Education from University of South Carolina and Converse College. Mrs. Burcham has maintained private violin studios and performed with symphony orchestras in GA, AL, TX, KY, MS, and SC. She taught orchestra for grades 6-12 in SC for 10 years.

  • John Daniel

    Strings, Music Theory

    John Daniel has performed and taught professionally in the Atlanta for the last twenty years.

    He has a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory from Georgia State University and a Master of Church Music in Violin/Music Theory from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky.

    John offers private instrumental instruction for these instruments: violin, viola, cello, string bass, banjo, guitar, bass, and piano.

  • Glen Eckman

    Piano, Music Theory

    Glen is the director of The Music School and teaches at The Music School. He has been teaching in the Atlanta area for the last thirty years. Glen holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano pedagogy and a Master of Music degree in piano pedagogy.

    He has also been accompanist for several music theatre ensembles as well as some high school theatre and choral programs.

  • Tracy K. Woodard

    Strings, Music Theory

    Tracy K. Woodard holds a Master's Degree in Violin Performance from UGA, and regularly plays orchestras, chamber ensembles, and theaters around Georgia. She published a volume of sight-reading exercises for Suzuki Viola students in 2008.

  • Chiu-May Yu

    Piano, Theory, Voice

    Chiu-May Yu teaches music at The Music School and Cambridge Academy of Music in Atlanta. She has taught piano, voice and music theory in USA and Hong Kong for over 40 years. From 1997 to 2002, she was a faculty member of the Hong Kong International Institute of Music. Additionally, she has worked as faculty of the Hong Kong Lutheran Theological Seminary and production assistant of the Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited.

    She is active as a member of the Music Teachers National Association, North DeKalb Music Teachers Association, North Fulton Music Teachers Association, National Federation of Music Clubs and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Her students have frequently won awards and honors, among them performers in the ABRSM High Scorers’ Concerts.

    Chiu-May holds a Master of Divinity from Hong Kong Baptist Seminary and Bachelor of Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University. She has also studied music pedagogy for four years in the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
